I went to look at an E320CDI Estate yesterday, 103K on an 07 plate. Bodywork very genuine and clean i.e. some minor chips and light surface scratches but very straight. Interior looking half its age / mileage. 1 owner and FMBSH, all good so far.
The wheels had received an outer face refurb, but the insides were very heavily corroded, which for me would need the whole lot doing again. Also despite the outer bodywork looking very tidy, there was lots of signs of salt corrosion to the calipers, visible brackets under the bonnet etc.
The car had obviously lived somewhere with lots of road salt, should I be worried about the underside? Suspension arms, inner sills etc. I couldn't get access to the underside of the car easily at the dealers.
Not bought the car yet, so would appreciate the collective view.
