so how do Mercedes justify this

Makes perfect sense to the accountants.

Arguing that it dilutes the strength of the brand is rather intangible (and longer term) against the tangible short term £/£/€ advantages that can be displayed in charts using PowerPoint.

Think it shows Mercedes don’t care for quality any more, its all about a quick profit for an aging brand.

Renault make better vans than Mercedes, that's why they're having to use theirs.

What you see is not what you get, better van or not it's still a Renault with a Merc badge.Thought MB were more discerning than that, obviously not,can we expect KIA A classes in the future?

Renault make better vans than Mercedes your having a laugh . Look how many mercedes sprinter are on the road compared to Renault master ..Sprinter engines are good for 300000+ miles your be lucky to get half in the master .

The thing is Renault wouldn’t put there name an a merc but merc would put there name on a Renault think that speaks volumes

Problem is the engine will be doing 300k, but the body will be long gone by then.

They may share the same body ( ever van manufacter do the same these days ) but after that it's a completely different van different front , lights , interior , and Mercedes own engines which Renault plan to use in there van in the future ..

The old shape sprinter maybe had few issues with rust but the new shape is fine ..

The new one is of course the same vehicle as the VW Crafter.

It's a Kangoo, with a Kangoo engine in it.

The only non Kangoo bits are the lights and grille.
