New w203 c240 Owner :)

Hi all,
Got my wife a w203 c240 today with loads of goodies :bannana: the car is 2001 Japanese import.
Question: Everytime i start the car the auto tranny goes in 'W' mode rather then the 'S' mode which I prefer. Any ideas why? and how do I disable it - there are no such options in the cluster.

Is there not a switch to make your choice beside the gear selector?

My wifes 203 stays in whichever position the switch is in, if that makes sense.
