Hi all,
As per title I've just picked up my 1st Merc - a 2004 C220 CDi.
Had to replace my much loved S-Type Jag after getting rear ended on M40.
After many years of car loans & company cars, I opted out some 20yrs ago and typically don't spend more than £1,750 on a car.
Went looking for another Jag, gave up & started looking for a well cared for solid car that would cover most duties and take my 6'4" size.
Ended up with a great condition C220 CDi estate. 1 owner (time served mechanic), fully stamped, mint interior, mint wheels & new tyres (Goodyears & have issues). Paid £1,500 and have done over 3k miles in 6 weeks.
Absolutely love the car and don't know why I avoided MB's for years. Think it's even reignited my petrol head for cars - also ride bikes.
Have a few minor issues but overall a cracking car which is comfortable, shifts when needed and returns 50mpg with no depreciation
