Hi all, got a 05 ml 270, been visiting this fantastic site on and off for a couple of years.
Following all the advice so far iv changed
conductor plate and pilot bush
All injector seals replaced at a garage, i had black death on number one cylinder so i wasnt feeling to confident to do the job.
filter and trans fluid, Done this couple of times, the fluid is getting more red in colour,
front and rear diff and transfer case fluids,
iv just removed swirl flaps, leaving the motor in place, if it stops working il pull the plug and solder the resistor in place,
Renewed the turbo vacuum thing, and the pressure hoses, the car feels like its got two kick downs now,
renewed brake and power steering fluid, drained and flushed cooling system.
Iv not done the egr shunt as yet because my manifold was pretty clean, i generally use Vpower or bp ultimate, so im hoping the extra im paying for the fuel is actually making a difference.
I treated myself to a CReader. And its proved invaluable, also sorted out my mondeo st220 vacuum hose fault, so its nearly paid for itself.
I wouldnt of done any of theses jobs without you guys and gals, so i thank you all for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
