Newbie saying hello

Hello Guys,

Excellent forum, I have moved over from the Dark Side(BMW M3 Evo Cab) to my new toy a 52 plate CLK320 Avantgarde in brilliant silver.

I have already ordered some new wheels and private benz plate and I am looking forward to attending some get togethers and hopefully when I gain some experiences with my new toy a source of useful help and advice in the future.

Hopefully get some pics up soon when she has her new boots on.

Nope - Welcome to MB ownership!!! - W208/210s and even early W220s (are affected and prone to rust so be carfeul.

In case you not understand/sure of the MB model codes: W208=CLK, W210=E Class and W220=S Class

Hi Vert and welcome. I made the jump from 3 series to CLK a month ago and have not looked back (yet!). I'm a bit surprised to read the comments on here about the rust though - like you I thought the CLK did not suffer from that and was generally one of the better Mercs for reliability

Also, can any of you experts clarify - mine is a '05 55 plate CLK 270 - is that a w208 or a w 209 ?

Result makes me feel a whole load better, how many miles have you covered and have you had any problems, I have 12months warranty(TIER 1) with MB so if anything is an issue I will get it checked before it expires..
