Hi

Just got a 1995 w124 e200 estate - the key fob has one large button - pointing the key to the sensor on the drivers door or boot fils to open or lock car - It did have a period yesterday when it worked.

Looked in manual and tested for red light - all ok

Did the press button and then insert key to position 2 on ignition

Nothing works - this is the same for both fobs

Any help much appreciated

Simon

Update

The new batteries and sync using the ignition or passenger door lock have mixed results.

I have got the doors to lock with one fob and unlock with the other - then the original worked twice - now nothing

Help appreciated :(

You might have more replies if your original post had the correct model designation w124 rather than w214 you posted. My guess is that the little microswitch under the button is pegging out. There have been many posts about this in the past. The only solution is to buy a new one if thats the problem see http://mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=35130&highlight=key+fob
