4-MATIC CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE, PARKING BRAKE SEE OWNERS MANUAL (in red)

Hi
My car is a 17 model CLA45 with 22,000 miles, serviced @ 3,000 ago, I have done less than 1000 miles in it when last night on the way home the above messages popped up along with 'collision prevention assist inoperative' (in yellow) also ABS & ESP 'currently unavailable see owners manual' again in yellow. As I am brand new to Mercedes ownership I am just asking for any advice/guidance on what should be my first course of action, any checks I can do before taking it to Mercedes and incurring the invevitable bill? or should that be my first pot of call? any advice gratefully received.

Regards

GH

Are you still within manufacturers 3 year warranty ?

If still under warranty I would take it straight back .

If out of warranty perhaps try an independent specialist ( will cost you less ) .

If you say where you are members may suggest a place near you .

What does owners manual say then? there must be a solution otherwise the warning would be in red with "visit workshop".

If it's still under warranty, take it to the dealer to sort out.

If out of warranty I would suspect low battery voltage and check with the engine off
Should be around 12.6v fully charged, 12.8v for an AGM battery.

If battery checks out OK, time for some diagnostics.

no bud, afraid not, I am convinced its over-cautious electrics rather than anything major, my audi is the same always asking for something! just starting the process of elimination.

Dealers will charge you extortion rates ; find a trusted local independent and save money .

your car needs to be plugged in to diagnose properly

I am coming to the same conclusion pal, intermittently the warnings are coming on and off all systems are working periodically then going off again suggesting there is nothing fabrically wrong with the car, a failing battery would make sense so i will get it tested as first priority, thanks for that.

Thanks bud, by process of elimination I will first have the battery checked, I have located a specialist in Bolton if I need further diagnostics.
