At least, according to the German equivalent of our AA/RAC/Britannia rescue services. Of cars built between 1999 and 2004 of which at least 10,000 a year are registered in Germany the most reliable car is the Audi A2. In the compact category the A-class comes first as does the A6 in the middle-to-upper class, followed by the Mercedes S-class, the E-class, then the BMW 5-series. In the middle size category the Mazda 6 leads followed by the Audi A4, BMW's 3-series, and the Mercedes C-class. The data relate to breakdowns, not, like the JD Power Survey, to customer satisfaction.
