I’ll be locking the M156 away then![]()
Here’s the second thread New C63 to go 4 cylinder It has a link to the first one.
You say that but the price for a four pot is creeping up already.Seems like a good way to reduce sales of the C63 to near zero (who the hell will pay ~£70k for a 4 pot). I wonder if this is a feeler to check the reaction from the market and then say "it's ok guys, we'll keep the V8 for now (but not for long)" and then everyone rushes out to buy one!
I think we should all embrace and look forward to the cars of the future.

I’m guessing some here still play music via Vinyl and CD’s.
Move with the times, you may just enjoy it.![]()
Over a decade ago I was shocked to see a highly strung 4 pot 2.0 turbo in place of a V8 in a racing Audi R8 .
Weight and balance is everything with handling and remember a 60kg difference just between similar cc early 90's Vauxhall engines, 8v Vs 16v turbo iirc .
I can't see a small-engined hybrid car weighing less than a conventional large engined one... the weight of the batteries will probably make-up for the difference.
But yes, in essence highly-strung small engines have a huge advantage in terms of weight and balance. Which is why the SL600 was never a great sports car..
You can put those batteries much lower to drastically improve the centre of gravity...

Vinyl still gives the purest sound Ant. Might be old tech but its still the best.
Streaming loses some of the quality
