Next Generation M3

Do any of you know when the next generation M3 will be released?

How soon after releasing the new 3 series do BMW launch the next M3?

I'm thinking as the new 3 series is out it shouldn't be long before the M3 arrives.

Just curious....

It's always at least a year behind, iirc.

Well here is the thing.

Normally I would say 2013 (a year later than the saloon) when you will see the Coupe and the Touring

But

There is also a FOUR series due out shortly which I believe is the coupe which really confuses the issue.

The speculation is that there will therefore be a 4 door M3 or a 2 door M4

I remember reading that there's a possibility that the 3-Coupe will be dropped in favour of a 4-Coupe and some 4-- and M4 names have been registered by BMW but who knows.. I had a look around a new 3 at Autosport on Sunday and found it rather boring!
