Advertised as 130,000 miles; MOT check shows over 240,000 miles in 2006
It does look very good though

243,637 miles in February 2006 according to MoT.

MoT Mileage in January 2015, 9 years later 113,948 ! What happened in the missing years?

Mileage now 130,724.

I wouldn't touch this one with a very long barge pole.

Hi,

Official MOT site history shows the mileage at 243,637 miles in 2006. Now it's about half that. Any explanation?

Thank-you for your message

When I bought the car in May 2021 I ran an RAC check which showed a discrepancy as recorded by the RMI scheme. The owner told me that this had been recorded in error and there was a dealer logbook showing a lesser mileage. I wasn't aware of the MOT from 2006.

Yours sincerely,

Just inquisitive i messaged the seller ..Lets see what explanation he tells me . And yes off the road for 9 years ,, rebuild ,, with new lump ,,or cut and shut who knows.

Mis post, as you were.

"The owner told me... there was a dealer logbook showing a lesser mileage." Oh yes? That's all right then...

(Does he have this logbook? He doesn't state what the 'lesser mileage' actually was, either; if I were selling the car, I would, and in the ad too. If there is service history from back then, supporting the mistake, or old MoT certificates, then fair enough, but I'd want to see convincing evidence).

"I wasn't aware of the MOT from 2006." No, of course you weren't...

Lovely colour scheme, air conditioning as well (remember when that wasn't the must-have it is today?), but without that convincing evidence of the purported recorded mileage mistake, I'd be with NJSS even if I wanted one of those old bangers/classics (delete as preferred).

Suppose it could be a mistake. 240000 miles in 10 years - not unheard of, but not common I would have thought. Who knows?

Certainly sounds like it. Either that, or he did his RAC check after buying the car.

Lots of corrosion mentioned on the MOT history too, probably more than I would expect for a circa 100k car......steer clear!

Corrosion is more dependent on where the car has been stored or used than mileage related. Cars left sitting in a damp environment or on grass can really suffer badly.

£3,200. Reserve not met.
