Last week, there was consternation in the household when BBC1 kept losing the signal and the HD Channels disappeared completely.
Was it the telly? Was it the Freesat dish? Was it the Beeb? Was it HD?
Went to the BBC site - no clues. Fiddled with the cabling, etc, etc.
Finally turned to Google and after much research discovered that it was indeed the BBC - they quietly "upgraded" their transmission system requiring me to retune the telly.
So in the end, after five days of headscratching, problem solved in five minutes
