In 2008 I bought Mrs MJ a 2005 car with 8,800 miles on the clock.

This year I bought her a 2016 car with 8,300 miles on the clock.

They do exist... I wasn't looking for a low-mileage car in particular, it's just that the low-mileage cars tend to be in better condition as far as the interior and exterior goes.

But, I bought the previous Merc with 25,000 miles, and the current one with 32,000 miles, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy an even higher-mileage car as long as it was near-immaculate inside out.

Said that... 4 years and 6,000 miles is quite rare.

I bought a 28 year old BMW motorcycle with 6300 miles on the clock. It wasn't cheap but there is a lot of value in everything being unworn and exactly as it left the factory with no DIY bodges or rounded off nuts.
