Nintendo DS Lite Game Problem

My son has a DS lite, which is having a problem with one game (Pokemon Diamond), all other games are fine.

The error message says "The data could not be read. Please turn off the power and resinsert the DS game card" Suffice to say that doing what it says does not work.

It is a proper game we have had from new, and has not been a problem before.

I have checked the card and pin connections etc, all seems to be good.

I have had a hunt around a few forums on the net, and there are lots of issues with copies of versions, pc emulators, but I can't find any pointer for a standard game on the proper machine.

If any gaming gurus could help me a bit, I would appreciate it.

Where did you purchase it from? if its off eBay it could be a copy.

If not, do you have the orignal recept? take it back to the shop if ask for an exchange or call:

Yeah, ask for an exchange 1st for the same game.

Then contact Nintendo if they are no help.

Update: Thanks to KillerHERTZ, mailed Amazon, new one is on its way, old one to be returned. Painless, and thumbs up to Amazon for a quick turnaround.
