sounds like a similar issue to yours, but the thread is incomplete with no "outcome" / follow up posts, might be worth messaging the OP there and see what his outcome was.
EML does NOT come on at all | Engine
CLK 280 2006 AUTO V6 PETROL. Turn the key all light come on. Go out as the should. But the engine management light does NOT even come on. The car starts and drives fine. Ive got the car booked into mercedese next week. I was hoping someone may know what causes this and a fix if possible...
