The Goodyear Effficient Grips are great !! I would recommend them to anyone.

However, the slight "wobble" I talked about may well be due to the rear shockers (W203 65,000 miles) - any comments?

I'm not used to ESP and the wobble might well be the car being stabilised by the Electronic Stability Programme.
However, Nisfan on this site, gave me a number to ring for new shocks if I need them. 0121 322 4200.
£25 each and £7 delivery. Seems reasonable, IF I need them.

That seems a good price and a relatively easy job too.

Glad you are happier with your new tyres! Those horrid Chinese things cause untold problems......

That's a good price, what make are they?

EDIT: Just read the other thread, I'll give them a call and see if they have any for the sport suspension as I think I've got one on the way out :(

This could still be the case if the system detects any irregularity in wheel speed through either different sized (old to new for some cars), corrosion of the reluctor rings, or some other problem. The ESP light on the dash board should illuminate though.

Usually, I would say, you have to be pressing on to invoke damper related problems, but at the price Nisfan has referred you to, it's probably well worth changing them anyway.

Cheers, Bellow.

The Goodyears have made a difference but will persue further with replacement shockers if nec'.

Just had new rear OEM shocks on feels better and cured slight rear end sway. Paid a lot more than £25 each though! Doohhh! Not happy with front suspension know w203 not best in world has anyone changed fronts and noticed vast improvement? my car has only done 80k and appears to have had offside one changed recently not an OEM one.

Might be the lower arm bushes, tie rods and/or ARB bushes - W203's are prone to that, I've had to change mine. Do you get a clunk from the front going over potholes?

Thanks. Had roll bar bushes done and new anti roll bar not expensive took away most of clunking. Just feels harsh and feels every slight pothole. Lovely car but my wifes 116k Astra convertible feels like silk compared to it on the road!

Let me guess - you're on at least 17" rims not 16's, which is what I have and the ride is really smooth since I sorted the front suspension. I've heard 203's are harsher on 17 or 18" rims but have not been in one to see the difference.

Wouldn't that be down to very soft springing because the derived from saloon shell isn't stiff enough to allow stiffer springs?

Mine's just started doing this recently, it's noticeably worse when braking.
