Iv just replaced the water pump, & iv squeezed what air i can out of the system, but there's no hot air coming through the heater. And at the back left of the engine bay there is a electric clicking sound. Whats going on, any ideas ?:wallbash:

Fill with coolant. keep it on hot. Drive it for 5 mins. Done

Unfortunately iv done all that for 20 minutes, & the heaters still stone cold. Is there a tap or bleed valve anywhere ?

Nope.

have you put the belt on right? (WP turning the right way)

Take the top hose off and fill it up. This might help

definitely put it back the way it came off, but didnt try heater before removing pump. try your hose idea tommorow, thanx

Dont know.

is it the duo valve? If the cooling system is empty on the heater side the duo vale may have a funny five.

Im wondering whether to remove one heater hose, hold it up in the air, & keep filling till the rad overflows, what you think ?

Yes do this with the engine off

Im pleased to announce that it was an air lock, taking the heater hose end off ,lifting it, filling it,squeezing pipes & refit has done the trick. Funny tho, all the air bubbles came up thro the rad, not up the heater pipe as id expected ! Job sorted anyway. Many thanks to BlackC55 for your input. John Worked on many different cars over the last 40 years, but this MB certainly has its mysteries !
