No "Journey Time" on Sat Nav?

I wonder if I could pick some other people's brains about a small frustration I have, an answer to which I've not been able to find using Google.

I've just been lucky enough to acquire a 2017 W213 E-class with Comand sat nav, etc. The sat nav appears to be MISSING a feature that I find really useful on both the TomTom and Google systems I've used before. When I plan a route, the sat nav happily tells me WHEN I'll arrive (a time of day), and how FAR the route is (number of miles). However, it does NOT tell me how LONG (in hours and minutes) it will take me to get there.

Now obviously I can subtract the current time from the ETA in my head to get my journey time, but I really value being able to glance at the display and see "oh, I've got 35 more minutes before I get there" without having to constantly repeat the mental arithmetic.

Am I missing some option somewhere to turn this on (I don't think so), or is this just a calamitous omission by whoever designs MB's sat nav? What do other people think? Do you miss this feature?

My 2014 E Class is the same. The COMAND is poor all round in my opinion. Obviously designed by a German that doesn’t drive. I always have Waze running on my phone as well. Crazy considering the price of the car!

Just subtract the time on the clock from the arrival time and thats the hours/minutes to the destination. ;)

I have a 2016 S205 with Comand it des not display remaking time just arrival time. My solution is simple: press the voice control input button and say “ route details” the system then reads out distance to destination followed by arrival time followed by hours and minutes driving remaining. Once this is doneI press the cancel voice button. Simple and no need to do the maths more even look at the screen.

Yes of course! But as I said, I was looking for something a little easier than that, which both TomTom and Google display. Internally, the system knows this number, because what it’s doing is calculating the journey time and then ADDING it to the current time to get the ETA. My question is why is doesn’t display the journey time...

Hmmm.... clever. Thank you.

Welcome to the world of Comand NTG 5.5. One of the worst sat navs I have come across.
Sadly, you're right that it doesn't tell you how long it will take you for the journey. It also won't show you your next turn point. ... until you're right on top of it, and that I find really annoying.
The sat nav is made by Becker and this is the second model of theirs I have had, and in my opinion they are c**p. I have already listed its many problems in other posts so won't repeat them here, I just hope you don't want to add speed cameras because you'll be even more disappointed.
It's a 20th century system in a 21st century car and it spoils the whole experience.

Thanks Nick. Yes - couldn't agree more. I was hoping that Apple CarPlay would let me just use Google Maps, but no luck. Why I can't save favourites, or even save "where I currently am" into this system, are also things that mystify me by their absence. What's double galling is that unlike the underlying car (which is great), these issues could easily be fixed post-purchase with a software upgrade. I'm not holding by breath for that to happen....
