Interesting find, thanks for posting it.

There has been a lot of speculation about the thirsty supercharged engines, especially the C32; the V8 engine is undoubtedly more economical.

But I think the instant torque (and lots of it) from the supercharger is fantastic; if they are going to stop making them, I'm wondering whether to keep mine long term!

As for the 7 speed gearbox, here is part of an e-mail from Michael Liebchen @ AMG when I made an enquiry about them -

Concering the 7 speed gearbox we can tell you that we will not offer this
box for your cars. It makes sense if you have engines with a weak torque,
but
with a torque of 700 Nm you even don't need 5 gears as we have it.
