No power when turning the key - R129 SL500

Hi all,

I looked at a very nice SL500 today - 1997 model.

On a couple of occasions, I turned the ignition key and nothing came on - no dash lights, and obviously no start.

Took key out and tried again and everything was fine. This happened twice whilst looking - all other times (maybe 4 or 5 starts) were fine.

What could this be?

Any thoughts?
