No Sound on NTG 2.5

So ive managed to install a NTG 2.5 (well allmost) into my w211 E220 2007 (APS 50). But theres no sound! Everything works fine except for the sound loss!
ive tried to loop a fiber optic cable in the HU and it still dosent play any sound

Any one got any ideas?

Same thing I thought after reading original post. You need to go to the main dealer or someone with STAR to reprogram the comand unit. Where abouts are you?

Now that you mention you tried the fibre cable, can you confirm that you have the speaker wiring connected from the NTG2.5 to your speakers? Since you've had an AGW unit with your Audio 50 APS, you would need to run speaker wires from the front to the rear. I assume you've done this but thought I'd double check.

I installed this wiring harness from the front to the back

Uncliped the the cables from the AGW, connected them into the new wiring harness.
Connected the CAN-BUS wire so the colors match in the back. Only thing not in use in the back is the orginal fiber optics.

In the front i connected the bluetooh antenne, the org. gps antenne, the double white fakra and the big quadlock connection into the NTG 2.5

Didn't use cables in the front that original where mounted in the APS 50 except the gps antenna.
The original cable connection was the gps antenne, and a connection with 2 fiber optics and the 3 wires, yellow, brown/red and brown i think.

Richard just posted a faq on the ntg2.5. Try the below:

When I installed NTG2.5 there is no sound.
This is because the unit was configured for Harmon Kardon sound system, you need to find an independant with Star Diagnosis and the 'development' mode settings who is willing to try and reset the unit.

There is a rumour that NTG2.5 can be set to default settings by doing the following: Turn off unit. Press and hold the ON button until it comes on and turns off again. Now Press and hold the ON button and at same time rotate volume control clockwise. When you hear a noise, release ON button. If this works for you please let us know.

Still no luck

Ive researched a bit and came up with a 3rd part solution. The have a module that can reset the HU. Otherwise I need to mount my HU into a car with NTG 2.5 stock putt STAR on it and turn of soundsystem. Then mount the HU back into my car.

Have just installed the NTG 2.5 in a R class, with the same result as you. I´m also from denmark. So I just want to hear if you have found a solution to the problem...

Ia ssume you have retrofitted NTG2.5 yourself? Try the method posted in post #13 in this thread. If it doesnt work your going to need to have the unit reprogrammed with STAR.
