Nokia 9300

The 9500 has built in wi-fi but is slightly more bulky than the 9300 (which doesn't have 802.11b).

Anyone seen/used the Nokia 9300. I have a 6310i and thought it unlikely that I would find a phone to replace it - it looks excellent.

Saw one on Friday, had a consultant in the office last week from Denmark the other day and he had one. He thinks it's fantastic and I know everyone in our office will want one know ;-(. Impressed with the size compared to the original communicator. Starting to think I want one too now, not quite so sure about the Symbian OS, anyone else used one?

Not quite the same league as the communicators but I've had a Nokia 7650 since 2002. It runs the Series 60 user interface over Symbian 6.0 OS and I would not want a phone without the Symbian OS now. The communicators run Series 80 over Symbian. The great thing about Symbian is the fact that it's open source means there are plenty of third party applications to use on your phone.

Not always a great thing Steve - I've lost count of the number of symbian viruses emerging over the last few years... Series 40 (in house, ie not open source) has had none. Ever.

Slightly off topic but this is the new Nokia that I am waiting for:

The Nokia 8800, the long awaited replacement for the Nokia 8910i :D
I'm using one of those at the moment - feels great but the battery life sucks so far... I'm sure it will get better.

Lucky you!! I can't wait for them to be released and get back to using a Nokia.
Selling my Samsung D500 now and have gone back to my 8910i until i can get the 8800. I do miss the camera and good quality screen though.

Any idea what the cost is guna be? If you need anymore testing I am more than happy to volunteer. ;)

750EUR + VAT unsubsidised price, so probably £250+ on a contract...
