Hi

I have just bought a new car with a Nokia blue tooth hands free kit fitted, joy I thought! however it is slightly different to the kit in my other car (gold remote button rather than silver) and I cann't pair it with my phone in the same way that I do with the kit I am used to.

Looking on e-bay and going only by the colour of the remote button it looks like a CAR112 kit, rather than the CK7-W kit I have in my other car.

I search for blue tooth devices and it finds the car kit but when I go through the pairing procedure it just says "unable to pair with car kit", I have tried an older phone (also Nokia) and get the same issue. Has anyone any advice so I can get my wife hands free without investing in a new kit?

Cheers

I answered my own question, but in case any of you have the same issue:

  1. Leave the ignition off
  2. Press the remote button and hold for 10 seconds until the unit beeps
  3. Set your phone to search for blue tooth devices
  4. Select the car kit and connect
  5. Enter the pass code, its either 0000 (default) or the last four digits on the sticker on the body of the main unit. For this you have to find it, in my case (BMW M3) it was buried in the dash behind the glove box...........................
  6. Set the phone to connect automatically.
You are hands free.
