My daughters 2017 Toyota Aygo came with the built in touch screen.

I cannot find out how to get the Nav to work? Toyota tell me has Nav but have failed to explain how I get it to work?

I have an iPhone and tried Apple car play. no good.

Ideally I would want to mirror the phone to the car but that appears. It to work.

    Any clues.

If it has Nav then there will be a memory card poking out of a slot in the glovebox, behind a little door

Thank you. The issue described in Graeme’s link seem identical to mine. No Nav icon at all and when I touch the connectivity icon on the cars screen it is asking me to “start an application on my device”. Sadly it appears (apologies if I missed it) that the poster in Graeme’s link does not lost a resolution?

Tomorrow I shall have a look for the “SD CARD” in the glovebox. Annoyingly out of the three Toyota dealers I have spoken too, none mentioned the presence of an SD Card. All seemed to be as lost as I am.

Thanks as always for trying to help me. It really is appreciated.

    Bruce

When my wife bought hers the dealer said it didn't have nav. I found the card in the glove box so pressed a few buttons on the screen and up it popped. I think the dealers need more training lol

This is what should be there

    Bingo.

Exactly as your photograph. The SD slot is there (with door open). When I shut the card door, on came the Green Light and up came the Navi Logo.

So three days and four Toyota dealers and the answer comes from the wonderful people on here. Thank you so much for taking the time and the pictures.

Graeme. You guide to the hidden menus is brilliant and I have bookmarked it. Thank you Sir.

    Enjoy your Christmas.

    Whooh Hoo.

Thank you. I may have spoken too soon. I’m certainly finding this not easy. Now I have the Nav and the Maps and they show my accurate position. Good.

We as soon as I start to move it is evident the maps are “upside down” or I am reversing up the road

I have tried changing the settings to 3D with no change to the issue. This does un-tick the 2d heading north etc.

I have touched the compass on screen with no change.

It is daft. The maps are upside down.

A google did not help but refers to poking the compass.

    Please help.

Go into User settings in the Nav menu and do a factory reset then see if anything has changed

    Hmm

I tried the Factory Re-set with no change and just went and tried it again. It does make changes that you can see, so it is working (the reset) but I am still upside down on the map. Most odd?

Thinking it may require some recalibration? I drive the car for 5 miles North then back South again. Nope, no good. Most odd.

There is a load of stuff on Google about google maps etc doing this. The fix is usually to prod the touch screen compass button.

Doing that on the Nav unit swaps us into different modes but still upside down.

    Hi Daz

It sure is complicated when it need not be.

Thank you for sticking with me here.

    To be clear.

I now switch on the car. Wait for the Nav icon to appear> press Nav.

This is after I have checked that the map view is set to 3D (it is)

The map looks fine until I start to move forward. At this point it is clearly not going “ in the direction of travel” rather it is upside down.

I’m assuming it did work? I’m loathed to go for a full disconnect in case it does require a code. Toyota are proving hopeless. They just do not know anything about the Nav. Each call receives different answers for the same questions.

Your help has been invaluable in getting us to this point.

    Hmmmmm.

Map view settings? Have you tried switching the 2D settings maybe there's some sort of last setting memory glitch or do you have to "save" them. Seems perverse but try setting the 2D settings the wrong way round as a test?

try taking the memory card out and then closing the door to activate the nav on the screen - it should say something like no maps available etc, then put it back in.

I presume you've pressed the compass whilst driving???

Tried the “compass press while driving” no change. Would the antenna not provide the direction in/output?

Maybe this is why the SD Card Door was left open?

I have seen a setting on some Mac’s for “Direction of travel” or Heading North then 3D.

Does your car have anything for direction of travel ?

The antenna won't be directional, it's just a locator. I'm wondering if the door being left open is because a fault occurred during the damage the car had.

I've only seen the 3D and North up settings etc but will have another look tomorrow. If the unit is faulty then there are plenty of used ones on the bay of fleas.

    Hi

I found s post tonight from somebody with the “same” issue. The reply from Toyota is to “push the compass icon”.

I shall try this again tomorrow and maybe try another re-set immediately prior to this along with removing the card. Basically a complete restore.

    Fingers crossed.

Thanks again for your patience and help.

    Bruce

There is nothing in ours for 'direction of travel' or similar, just the 3 settings, 1 for 3D and 2 for 2D. Ours is a late 2014, not sure if it makes any difference.

Can I ask, do you leave it in 3D?

The lady with the same issue on the forum explained it rather better than me.

“ Cambridge is on my right when I know it’s on my left”. That is exactly what we have.

When I’m driving, the car icon is travelling down the map from top screen to bottom screen.

I’m about to try pushing the compass again and will report back in a few minutes.
