I bought a 2012 (W166) ML class 3 weeks ago with the standard 19" alloy wheels, but I would like to upgrade the wheels to 20" using an online alloy wheel company. The alloy wheel I want to buy is a new wheel and an original Mercedes part and with the tyres cost around £2500. The trouble is my existing Tesco insurance say they won't pay out for the wheels if I am involved in an accident as they won't be bought and fitted by a Mercedes garage!

I have phoned Admiral and they will insure the wheels for a maximum of £500 if they are damaged in an accident but this is still way below what they are worth.

Does anyone know of any insurance company that will pay out and replace the wheels in this situation, or can I get separate alloy wheel insurance?

Thanks for any help!
