I just thought I'd start a 'Non Winter Tire Thread', as every other bloody thread is about bloody winter tyres:wallbash:

I rather like summer tyres and have Toyo T1R Proxies which i love and they seem to have fantastic grip(sadly not in the snow though:crazy:) In summer time they grip like no other tyre I have known and are also fantastic in the wet.

So tell us your favourite summer tyres and why you love them so much:)

I agree , there are too many threads about winter tyres ...................and those awful C63's

Lately I've been toying with the idea of Spring and Autumn tyres too, I find sprouting daffodils a real pain but then again wet leaves...Hmm I wonder which is best...

there's only one way to find out...

FIGHT!

I just bought a new set of Contis for the Vito - checked all the usual online suppliers (MyTyres, Etyres, Event Tyres, Camskill, etc.) and about £150 per corner was the cheapest. Just for a laugh I thought I'd look at Kwik-Fit - only £118 there as they had them on special offer :bannana:

Nice man from Kwik-Fit mobile came and fitted them on Monday.

I considering removing my tyres and instead fitting a personal railway line between my house and work. I can then truly say my car will hanlde "like it's on rails!"

Not remoulds, Not part worn, Not budget. Then I just go for black and round.

Honestly , i seem to tell everyone this ( i don't have shares in Falken , but perhaps i should ) .... try a set of 452's , they are great tyres for the money.

Got two new ones going on the back of mine today , £175 for the pair , fitted.

Agree with you on that...Falken 452 rock.....

I've recently bought some Continental Sport Contact 3, £100/each fitted for 225/45/17.
They came top in a recently Evo tyre review. The price seems really competitive considering their performance.

has anyone tried the new conti sports? I saw them in top gear magazine. I think there called 5P.
I personally like Bridgestone RE050's at £88 fitted for a 225x45 17 you cant go wrong!

Well i couldn't find RE050s for anything like that price (bear in mind there are about 25 variants of that tyre !) so i went for Falken ZE912s and in the limited use they had before fitting appropriate wheels and tyres for winter they seemed every bit, if not better, than the Bridgestones.

Best tyre i've used, and will only fit them to my other car, Michelin Pilot Sport 2 - faultless in wet n dry, usefless in snow lol!!

My most liked tyre is the conti SC3. Best combination of grip (wet/dry) comfort and noise IMHO.
Just about to swap out a set of michelin PS2 which are definitely a close second. Better in dry, but slightly less in wet and comfort compared to the conti.
Did just over 52000KM which beats the rest by a big margain.
Found the OE RE050A bridgestones great but give to harsh a ride for me.

I have been using Toyo T1R (and old T1S) on my Smart for2. Excellent tyres with even better price to suit. Who cares that those last 12000 miles for £80 per rear pair. I'm still on first set of T1S at the front.

GL is now on Dunlop SP Maxx, It came with Contis and I have never had worst tyre in my life.

im running kumho's ku31 on my c32 , no problems so far a bit of a bargin .
hankooks are also very good .

Did you try your local back street tyre fitters? the company I use (HMT), are always way cheaper for summer tyres than any of the major fitting companies and online ones too.

I had some on my Porsche a few years ago and they were excellent. :thumb:
I wil be buying them again in the future for sure.

Must agree I'm stick of hearing and seeing threads with regard to winter tyres. My own opinion is to stick with all year round tyres and drive the car to the conditions in front of you and if the weather is so bad that it becomes danerous then, don't go out in it.

That said I live in quite a rural area with very little public transport available therefore, I have a four by four for the daily ride.
