e320 cdi
Hi all,

Not used the forum before so please be gentle with me

Got a 2000 e320 cdi never had any real probs with it.

Went on holiday a few weeks ago and when I got back the battery on my car had gone flat. Took it off and recharged it. Started up car and it's now in limp mode. Any suggestions please??

Thanks in advance.

help please, been searching for info for hours. sick of driving in 2nd gear :(

Get the Battery tested out professionally first should be the initial route

MB's don't like tired batteries in general and can throw random fault codes due to low voltage which in turn, depending on code, can trigger limp mode.

Good chance a new Batt will solve your issues.

as above. many new cars experience electrical problems with weak batteries. Also, if you have multimeter you can check if anything is pulling power from the battery when everything's switched off and car locked.

If I get a new battery should this reset the car and stop limp mode (if this is the only problem)?

How rude of me. Forgot to say thanks for the help so far

Think that it should, most of my limp mode problems have gone away when the offending part is finally diagnosed and changed, and battery does sound like a prime suspect in your case.
