Norton Anti Virus turns off

Hi all, a little help if you would. I have Norton Antivirus on works computer and every time I turn the computer off and eventually back on my antivirus is disabled and I have to enable it manually. I have checked for viruses with three different checkers, but no joy. Any clues? tia
