norton not working

Hmm

it seems since intalling a Microsoft update and a Btyahoo one my Norton security programme cant be turned on and has dissapeared from the toolbar at the bottom of the screem.

worse still I cant conect with my work or even things like British Airways on line check in !

help anyone ?

Also I have found a "program" called properties C:\Normanav\NVCinst.exe
it dosent seem to apear on the list of programmes that I can uninstall via the
add or remove screen on the Control panel , wonder what it is ?

What operating system have you got .
Win98/2000/xp?

If you have done the Windows SP2 update there is a box in the "Security Centre" which enables/disables a third party firewall. Have a poke around.

Otherwise might have to uninstall/reinstall and do the live updates.

I had no problems last weekend. I'd installed SP2 on a PC that already had Norton NAV/NIS 2003 installed and it worked like a charm. So whatever the issues were when SP2 was first released seem to have been fixed 3 or so months down the line. Even SP2's security centre can monitor and report the status of Norton firewall & anti-virus.

Had to remove then re install Norton

so far so good
