Not a MB, but unusual to say the least

"Covered 149,000 miles.... The vehicle benefits from having a replacement engine at 75,000 miles"

On the basis of past performance, then, it will need a new engine in about 1000 miles....

Good for possum shooting...

someone should be able to shed some light on this....

D4D engines are prone to head gasket failure. My Lexus IS220d had a new engine at 72k miles. Toyota have an unofficial 112k mile or 7 year warranty on the D4D engines as a result. Apparently the engine design makes skimming the head impossible (although some people say they've managed it) and so a new engine is needed at a cost of £4-6k including labour... There are people out there with 2-3 new engines in under 100k miles! I'd not buy another D4D personally.

Handy if you loose your dog...
