*NOW CANCELLED!* Benz On The Green 10th Of May 2025

That's a shame; BOTG is one of those calendar markers. But getting yourself sorted definitely needs to take priority and we wish you well with that.🤞

All the best Olly and a speedy recovery!

Sorry to hear this, but there is always next year and your fitness must come first so when you have your surgery I'd like to wish you a speedy recovery ;)

That's a shame and I echo the comments about a speedy recovery etc!

This was going to be my first attendance and I wonder if we can do a bit of a gathering somewhere else on the same day? Caffeine & Machine maybe?

So sorry to hear of your back troubles and I sure we all hope the surgery goes well. I'm sure there will be other years and events which when we can see you fitter and better. I look forward to that.

I’m sorry to hear that BOTG won’t go ahead this year - coincidentally I was only thinking about which car to bring this year - I but I’m pleased to hear that your back is being sorted @BlackC55

I think the suggestion of ping something else on the same date is a good idea. Perhaps we keep the date clear for now in case we can collectively rustle up an interesting plan B.

Wishing you a speedy recovery mate!

Can we not still meet at the pub minus olly?

Get well soon slim.
I am happy to do some “running around “ if help is needed…..

The Hut, Caffeine and Machine has a super car day on the 10th. They do have a large field and some seating outside but think that 40 odd Mercedes and possibly and extra 70 people may be too much for them… I am happy to go and ask. I was there today..

Sorry to hear that, get well soon!

Thread title updated.

With a very heavy heart, I'm going to have to cancel this years Benz on the Green. Apologies to those of you that have booked hotels etc, hopefully you are able to cancel without charge. I'm waiting on back surgery, so will hopefully be fighting fit after that. Apologies once again, looking forward to next year, Olly

Speedy recovery, Olly.

All the best Olly, get well soon

What a bloody woss! It's just a sore back!!!

Only joking Olly, your health comes first and there's always next year to look forward too. Wishing you all the best for a full and speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear of your bad back Mr S, I thought the only thing wrong with it was it's reluctance to leave the mattress in the morning.

Having said that, I genuinely hope it gets better soon. :)

Well, I'd appreciate it if you would Brian. I'm going to be in Horndean as I always book the hotel non-refundable, there may also be one or two others in the same position.

To be fair, I don't think that many from BOTG would bother. I'm sure there may be a few of the more local ones who would fancy it, but nowhere near the amount on the original list. I'd certainly be up for it, other than that Saturday could be a pretty boring day...

Might be a little more weather dependant than BOTG, but I'd be up to popping over to the Hut for a couple of hours on the 10th May if the weather isn't persistently persistent on the day.

Could do late morning or early afternoon if others are like Dave, now, in the area or at a loose end.....

We could start a fresh post and list or will the Supercar day have the place booked out?

The holiday may not be cancelable, but you can move it to a different day later in the year, then as you get closer, move it again to the botg date for 2026!
