NOx g/km

I've just received the new V5 document after transferring my private plate to the car and under Exhaust Emissions the NOx (g/km) figure is 7.700 - does anyone happen to know if that is correct for a 2011 CLS 350 BLUE EFFICIENCY petrol?

It will vary from individual car to car depending on spec and options....which is why my low spec E350 CDI 212 is ULEZ compliant, even though it's only Euro 5, whilst most are not.

Many thanks - I just thought my figure of 7.700 seemed very high.

That does seem very high. The V5 for my 2012 C350 Blue Efficiency Petrol lists NOx as 0.019 g/km. It's the M276 engine with direct fuel injection that's said to produce higher levels of NOx!

Many thanks - that figure seems much more likely. My car also has the M276 engine is meant to be Euro 5 compliant which requires a maximum NOx g/km figure of 0.06 from what I understand. To complicate things further the Certificate of Conformity I have for the car also gives the figure as 7.700 so presumably there must be an error somewhere but I don’t know how to resolve it.

The same engine then. My Certificate of Conformity states 19.70 mg/km (which equates to 0.0197 g/km) The DVLA will have got their info from the CoC.

I suggest writing to MB UK at Milton Keynes, or email [email protected]. Provide your car's VIN and basically tell them everything you've put here. It's their error.

Normally the NOx figure is given in mg/km. Are you sure yours is in g/km ?

That is really helpful - thank you.

Thank you! Looking carefully now at the CoC it does give the NOx as 7,70 in mg/km so presumably the error is with DVLA as the V5 definitely states 7.700 g/km or g/kWh?

That's interesting. Means that what seem like identical engines have different NOx, with yours lower.

Yes, mine is a CLS 350 Blue Efficiency petrol C218 first registered in 2011. Curious how the NOx figures are quite different.

Not sure it matters much, given that all post-2014 petrol cars are ULEZ compliant anyway?
