NTG 2.5 Map Upgrade

Apologies if this has been covered before, but couldn't find anything on a quick look!

I've got NTG2.5 fitted to my 2007 E Class, however I suspect it's retrofit and not OEM. Have just bought the 2012/2013 update maps from Comand online but as soon as I put the disk in the unit it gives me an error saying the upgrade can't be completed and to contact MB Service. Anyone got any ideas if there's a way round this?

Have you tried loading the discs for a second/ third time?

It is documented on here, however why not ask Comand Online?

Yep, have loaded the discs multiple times.

Have also asked Comand Online. I guess I'd best go look a bit harder for the info then!

Your unit needs a firmware update.

Go in to engineering mode. To do this press Press NAV, then hold down these three buttons: Phone hangup + * + 6.

If that doesnt work then try phone hangup + 1 + #. Once your firmware has been updated then then you will need to use the above combination to enter engineering mode.

Select SWDL and go the page titled SW Update. You will have a page like the below. The 4th line HW/SW is the line you need to look at. If your on the latest firmware the 3rd and 4th sets of numbers will say 09/29.

To check map version go back and select Version instead of SWDL. Go to the page titled Version. You will have a page like the below. The 3rd line HDD Contents shows you the map version, in my case it is V9 which was released April 2013.

Dont change anything in engineering mode.
