NTG 2.5 SatNav update ?

The SatNav in my CLS is the facelift NTG 2.5 with the card slot, it is a bit out of date, like getting on for ten years.

Is there an easy cost effective way to get it updated to a later map set ?

You will need to upload the latest maps from this DVD:

BUT depending on your current firmware, you may also need to update the firmware to the latest version (from memory released in 2011) before you can upload the new maps, and if so then this is a STAR job - www.commandonline.co.uk can advise on this.

How do you find the firmware date, is it in the engineering menu ?

I tried with the drop call,6,* buttons but it didnt do anything.

Could stomach the £156 potentially but dont want to lavish hundreds on it, will just use my phone or TomTom instead, dont do many long journeys really.

You need to hold the buttons for around 8s.

Go into the SWDL menu and the firmware version will be displayed , you are looking for 09 29 to be listed for the new version of the maps to be compatible. If you have an earlier version then the firmware will need updated.
