Hi All,
I have a W204 (2012) with NTG 4.5 Comand and the audio fadeout doesn't seem right and I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem and has a solution?

I have seen a similar post on here about the same problem but that post relates specifically to the Becker system - mine is Comand. With navigation instructions turned on there is no 'audio fadeout' of the Media Interface device (iPod)? If I switch to the DAB radio then there is some audio fadeout but not enough (this is compared to the audio fadeout on the NTG 4 unit)? Any idea's? Audio fadeout is turned on! It seems that there should be a similar setting for each interface, i.e. iPod, DAB etc but I can't find these settings?

With an

The degree of audio fadeout varies according to the relative volumes of the source and the navigation instruction. So, if you have the Nav instruction set to a "normal" level and (say) the radio playing at a very low level there will be no fadeout of the radio when a Nav instruction is annunciated; conversely, with the Nav instruction set to the same "normal" level and the radio playing very loudly, the radio will be significantly muted when a Nav instruction is annunciated.

Is the iPod playng at a similar level to the DAB radio in your tests? It's worth playing with the relative levels to see what happens.

Mmmm - you're right, just tested on my journey home. It's not great though in my opinion. This is different to the NTG 4 Comand, where (I think) the iPod / Radio etc were faded out totally regardless of their volume? Perhaps it's just that I'm not used to it this way and here's hoping it grows on me!

Thanks very much for your response too - much appreciated :-)

Comand Online audio fadeout

Sorry to revive an old thread but I am having a similar issue. I took delivery of a W212 facelift brand new in December. I have been experiencing "no audio fadeout" even with the option ticked in Comand. I took it to the dealer today and they said its a known issue and MB are "working on it". I have also had problems with the DAB radio and they have updated the software today to improve signal. Lets see how that one goes.

Has anyone else had the audio fadeout issue?

Anyone?
