Hi All

Hoping someone can help ive got a 2013 w212 with the NTG 4.5 Headunit

i had the dreaded device unavailable message a couple of years ago and a software update was done and the radio has worked perfect for the past couple of years.

However recently i have had an issue where intermitently (Happens every drive) it will just lose all signal and show no stations displaying No Reception is displayed on screen if i switch to FM i can see a couple of stations but this also doesnt see all the stations it would do when it is working ok

Im in the UK so in regards to the DAB i belive i am using Band 3 (Rear windscreen antenna) not sure if this is the same antenna for FM

Hope someone can give some advice my thoughts have been to replace the antenna amp/supressor what is everyone elses thoughts please?

Welcome.

On the W204 that I used to have, the shark fin antenna on the roof provided signal to the DAB, GPS, and GSM. The AM/FM antenna is incorporated into the rear windscreen. See also:

Unfortunately I don't know if the W212 has the same setup.
I was told on the W212 the shark fin only does DAB in the likes of Germany when using Band L rather than Band 3 in the UK

Have a similar issue with dab stations, sometimes it just says. I connection drops audio for a bit and then reconnects .fm is fine, no dropouts. If anyone has any ideas, could it be a loose wire to the antenna somewhere?

I had that happen in the past device not ready but was fixed with a software update I done via vediamo

Will keep an eye out for that, am due a service soon so will see if there are any updates due. Although doubt there are any left for a an old s212 :) it could just be a sign of age.
