NTG4.5 2015/2016 Now Available

NTG4.5 2015/2016 V13 is now available. So those of you with 3 years free map updates go visit your dealer. V12 never got released, the last version was released late 2014.

Its not been announced yet, so your dealer may not know about it. They will possibly need to order the map update disk set.

I can confirm 15/16 v13 maps and they're Europe. Mine was updated by disc and took about 5 hours.

To update the firmware in the COMAND (i.e the operating system) it needs plugging into stable power supply and Star Diagnosis (Xentry), this can take up-to a few hours depending what audio modules need updating (and what else they may update).

To do the maps, it is easier to plug it into a power supply, stick it in the corner with the ignition on, and check every 20 mins for whether it wants disks changed.

NTG4.7 takes longer than NTG4.5 (it uses the 3rd disk in the set)

Really grateful for this info.

Just collected my 2013 C63 whose 3yr updates run out on 18/3/16. As its in on Friday for other (minor) warranty issue, I've asked that they update to v13

If by any chance they can't do it, get them to get the PIN from VeDOK (parts dept does this) and keep the printout - then they can easily install it (without having to pay for the map pin) later

FYI I bought this 2015/2016 DVD set from my local dealer in Leicester. £100 inclusive for my 2011 CLS. You just put the DVD in the drive and wait for around 4 hours (it asks for the second DVD). Easy to do yourself, no need for any external connections or codes. No PINs or anything needed.

For those who care I notice the 'new' maps still don't know about the A43/M40 junction changes... Well at least my street is on there now.
