number of mp3 tracks supported on USB via media interface

Hi,

I am shortly going to have fitted a NTG2.5 in a W203 (Thanks to the guys at Comand's for tracking down a 6-DVD unit) and wondering how many MP3 tracks is supported on a USB stick via the Media Interface.

I have read that a figure of 1000 tracks but is this per USB device or per folder on the device?

Is there any limitation to USB stick Gb memory size as a higher size supported allows more space for higher quality bit rate for MP3 encoding.

I am not familiar with the NTG2.5, but you can buy a memory stick in virtually any size, memory wise. Mercedes do a memory stick in the shape of a Mercedes ignition key, for instance. The issue with a memory stick is that you can`t search for a track, you have to foreward through every track till you get to the one you want. Unless, that is, that the system you are having installed will read the memory stick and you can scroll through the tracks. Has the NTG2.5 got a harddrive, internal memory so you can load the music on to it?

With the 6 dvd changer, music register on the harddrive and the SD slot why bother fitting the media interface?
