Number Plate Oops

Well, now that the matter has been rectified i.e. is legal!

Have to admit to driving a smart for 12 months on the wrong registration plate.
Only spotted it because it was booked in for first service

The car was bought new, the plates weren't ready (May 2008) when collecting from Exeter Mercedes Benz, so what with one thing and another never spotted the mistake - WJ was fitted, should have been WG. Didn't help that the service book hadn't been filled in - I guess smart ain't that important to MB.

Lucky it was the plate that was wrongrather than the other way around - reg docs, tax etc.

Incidentally - first service £168 !! (oil change and a chamois)

This happened to me too, years ago when I worked for Renault and ran a demo, we registered 2 coupes and they put the plates on the wrong cars when they PDI`d them. Ran it for 4 months before anyone spotted it, they made me swap the plates back

Speeding? In a smart....

Actually it only gets used around town, so that may have helped.
