Number plate style

Does anyone know exactly what a 1989 number plate looked like ? I know it didn't have the blue flag symbol, and I know the prefix, it's whether the font was raised or if there was anything different to the ones we have today. Thanks

The characters were larger pre-2001 and there wasn't officially a standardised single font as we currently have.

Not only larger sized characters (wider rather than taller) but as inferred above, you could have different fonts so italics, 3D and there was a weird font which used two lines - you could also have raised/embossed if plates were made of metal. You could also have stuff written underneath as well as opposed to the manufacturer postcode.
