On Friday, I plan to get some new Euro GB new font plates from my MB dealer, complete with 202 backing plate/mounts (I will post the part numbers).

I was wondered what docs you require when buying them?

MOT, Drivers licence? Insurance?

Registration documents for a start,to prove you own the vehicle that the plates are for.

Bugger - I was looking at a poster today which explained everything you need.

Needless to save, old sievehead here can't remember one of them.

Check out the DVLA website - they'll have it on there.

37 proofs of identity, a dna sample, etc etc

In all seriousness, you need something to prove who you are such as a photo driving licence etc and possibly one other proof of ID which includes your address.

Not in scotland you dont :D :bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

V5 document
Passport or photo driving license
Proof of address such as Bank or building society statement or utility bill.

Need to be the originals not photocopies and the serial numbers need to be recorded.

I don't have a registration document as I lease the car, so I ordered them from fancyplates.com and didn't need anything!

I quite like the Idea of the german plates...

Am considering getting a set made up to see what they look like on the car.

Considering ive driven around with Fuzzer plates on not realising i forgot to take them off i doubt whether the plod would really notice :)

I've never been asked for any proof of ID or anything when getting plates! I last got a set free from the stealership, but I suppose they know who I am ;) .

Since Oct the 1st (I think) the law has changed

...or you could goto www.fancyplates.com and get one made up how you want without any ID at all.

You will however be using an illegal plate however but how plod could tell you bought the plate since the law change I dont know ;)

MB logo

Wouldn't the MB logo be better than EU ?
