Nuts!

guess who is dumb, just noticed you have done what I was going to suggest:crazy:

Tip: If you are going to use anything acidic/abrasive on the wheels other than car body shampoo then the nuts are going to inevitably rust/corrode!

Tip #2: Even if you only ever use water and car shampoo on the wheels, the nuts will inevitably rust!

Tip #3: Tip 3: Buy a set of hub caps and problem solved... :p ;) :)

The bolts we sell are Dacromet 500 coated - much better than the zinc plating that Mercedes use.
from the site:
All of our bolts are made by RAD in Germany to DIN EN ISO 898-1 tempered to strength class 10.9
www.radgmbh.com
Corrosion resistance is provided by a Dacromet 500A coating - 240-500 hours salt spray test resistance guaranteed (10+ years use in Northern Europe)
Chrome plating is micro-porous and lasts typically 15 hours. Zinc plated bolts last 20 hours -around 1 year normal use!

If the car's still under warranty, your dealer will be more than happy to replace them for you - it's quite a common claim.
