Why do fools in modern cars think they can take on our cars and win?

Nutcase in a Renault Megane convertible up my **** driving like a **** flashing his lights and peeping his poncy French horn at me just because I am slowing down for the speedbumps in my neighborhood. This guy is 2" off my **** and ranting. We get to the lights at the end of the road which are on red and he is going of his head ranting and shouting all sorts of ****e at me which is obviously winding me up.

The lights change and this **** floors it around the righthand side of me with his horn on. Hmmm. My patience is now totally gone and I floor my foot so we are now side by side. Very quickly I am shooting past the **** and he has to pull in behind me because he quickly runs out of power.

A) What a total sad road rage nutter who flipped simply bacause I was slowing down for the speed bumps.

B ) Why do these thick as **** ****ers believe that the ****ty euro-crap cars they drive are actually quicker than much lighter cars with more power from decades passed ?

It's hard to ignore these fools sometimes but they're not worth it.

I get exactly the same in my sprinter. it allways nearly fully loaded so i have to take my time at least slow down to 15-20 mph for the humps that are the whole width of the road. it happens regular.
Anyway one day i had an impatient driver in a escort van about 2 foot off my bumper and he was also half across the white lines.
It went on for about a quarter of a mile at this point my blood is boiling so my foot gets stamped on my middle pedal hard and he ****s himself there was smoke everywhere off his tyres he stopped with an inch spare at most. that learned him he backed off after. Its a bit silly i know but if he cant avoid hitting me hes too close simple bear in mind it was a built up area with kids around ( it was clear where i played my trick on him ).

it gets me how they never get caught

When faced with situations like this (rare in my neck of the woods), I just pull over at a safe place and let them roar off and do their thing.

Playing games with them won't teach them a thing and it's really not worth getting myself wound up for.

I assume that I am not alone in thinking that it takes two to have an argument and, rather than react to some of the complete idiots that are present on our roads - see above - it is far better to take the defensive line and not get involved, whatever the provocation.
I dont think " flooring it" or " breaking hard in a built up area" is the answer whatever has taken place.

I think the best thing to do is move over when safe and let them past.

As I have got older and now also carry my little ones in the car, I think I'm far more sensible even though the cars I have now are probably quicker and safter than my boy racer days...

'Flooring' and overtaking it in what was probably a 30 zone? means in many ways you are as bad as him.

He's driving a French car that is probably falling apart aroung him and you should be wafting along in the S class quite nicely.

I always continue as was or slow down all the more if they get too close, then hit the open road and see if they have the grapes to overtake then

its difficult to ignore annoying people in lesser cars when you have AMG power under your feet, I dont do silly stuff in built up areas any more, just knowing I have the power is enough but when the road opens up goodbye annoying snot box in my mirror!

I had some bloke in some silly little V6 Audi qattro the other day, he soon realised some old estates are fast, now go home and tell all your little friends that a 13 year old silver and rust coloured estate battered the snot out of you

.... because he's probably up to his gills on banned substances, or running from the law, or something equally distasteful...
