O/T Free Mobile Handsets on O2

Hi Guys

Dunno if this will interest anyone, for me its great as its an excuse to get a nice new gadget.

I have just heard that O2 stores are doing all Handsets free on the O2 network.

You have to connect to a £45 a month tariff for at least 3 months but can then change to any other including the £15 a month tariff.

I have just got the new sony P900 PDA Phone for Free, considering that this phone is worth £600 offline its a crazy deal.

They are awful, I had so much trouble trying to get intouch with them etc

My main line is on Voda but have had an o2 as a second phone for about a year and didnt have any probs.

Besides the phone i got is unlocked so i guna use it with my voda chip anyway.

its got everything i need . Diary , Bluetooth and Triband

yeah thats what i found when my mate told me, however a few of the news groups on google talk about it, thats how i got confirmation.

The guy in the store said they dont know when it will end but is definately on for now!

The number for o2 is 0800224477, they can tell you where the stores are.

IMO, the O2 service is so inferior to any of the others, its worth spending the £50 and buy the P900 with another provider.

Can't be any worse than the two 3G handsets and contracts I just bought! Coverage for the 3G part is crap, and the battery lasts me one day!!

Still 750 minutes inclusing rental for £40/month isn't bad!

I also bought a 3G, i dont use it anymore its useless, one of my business partners has taken a shine to it so at least its not wasted.

The only good thing about 3G is that the video calls are free over the xmas period!

I have heard that there is a samsung handset that will run the 3G sim card however am still waiting for my brother mate to tell me the model number.

Use Xda all the time, not just as phone - Navi, Speed Camera Detector etc. New XDA 2 is even better - no car kits available yet though.

Just got off the phone from the O2 shop in Oxford St. They tell me that the deal is finished, but will probably restart in a new form from January 2nd. He was pretty sure that the P900 will *NOT* be included this time.

It could be worth trying to blag the deal (i.e. Price match) at a carphonewarehouse they can be quite accomodating at times...if you need a copy of receipt to prove the deal let me know.
