OBD connector for dashcam power

Looking for one of these connectors & I see that most of the ones advertised have a switch in the cable, so am I correct in assuming that the power supplied from the OBD port is a permanent live & not ignition switched? Yes it’s permanent live and so best used with a camera which can sense battery voltage and switch itself off.

And from memory it is protected by a 7A fuse, so check the camera's power requirements.

Thanks fellas, I'll use the usual option of powering it via the cigarette lighter socket then, as that's ignition fed. It's for the wife's Toyota IQ.
