I can see my history via the MercedesMe website (not the app) I’m not sure if this will apply to the ops.

Mine is a 2016 E350, mind you I have had the car from new so less relevant.

Yes, but you can only access it with the SecCode that you get after each service.

Avail yourself of a good independent specialist. They’ll print you off a copy of the DSB history if you ask nicely. I do.
Yes absolutely . Good Pro' posture.
From that you usually get word of mouth advertising the best form of marketing by far!

Brand dealer posture on this side will not share service info. Period
Its yet another policy of customer retention, even after the vehicle has been sold to a new owner who is seeking service records,.
If you use a good professional independent shop that specializes in a several brands, they usually have shop management systems that has Stats and service records on each customer's car.
More good reasons to seek out good Independent shops that do dealer level service.
Competition its a wonderful thing in the world of where business is business and the customer has choices,
Which doesn't necessarily mean dealer every time.

.

This is all very good but still does not explain why the selling dealer (main) could not be bothered doing this or even provide the details of the service they did.

Each day I hear horror stories I lose faith in these main dealers and their Approved Used scheme.

In recent years, I found that the most effective solution for me is have all routine services done under the MB Service Care Plan (I use MB Brooklands), and all repairs and wear items done by a specialist (I use Wayne Gates). Worked well for me so far.

I see you’re from Stirling. Have you had any dealings with MB Newbridge?

Yes, used to hold them in high regard.
After a few dealings it became clear they are also xxxxxxx.
I look forward to receiving and looking through the DSB. I just hope there isn’t anything sinister in the fact they didn’t give me this on collection day, but it does make you wonder eh? If it had been a higher mileage model I probably would have been more on the ball, but fingers crossed everything is tickety boo.

Five more posts and you can PM me your chassis number and I’ll send it to you ;)

Post a picture with your number plate. That usually works too

Exactly yes.

The thing is none of us are doing any of us any favours by doing something the Main Dealer should have done.

I'm more than happy to supply service history on a vehicle to long standing members.

On the other hand I'm now less likely (I wont) supply this to a new member where they should have got this from the main dealer.

It's quite simple, the dealer making the bucks (or not) on the sale should do the leg work.

I don’t know if I’m reading this wrong but it seems like your having a wee go at me here? Ok, so I overlooked getting the service history handed to me when I picked my car up, my bad. Am happy to wait on the dealer comin back to me wi the info tomorrow but if someone is kind enough to take a minute of their time to offer the info tonight I won’t turn it down.

I'm still bemused!

Why aren't you getting this from the selller?
What is there to be bemused about? I’ve emailed the seller my V5 form and driving licence last night, if I don’t hear from them tomorrow I’ll phone them.

Oh dear! And I thought one of the benefits of forums like this one was to help others!
