I m new to this forum. I have w203 c220 cdi 2004. I have noticed that sometimes engine sound becomes heavy and fuel consumption goes higher & mpg drop quickly for no reason. As a workaround, i switch off and then on again the engine and mpg becomes normal. If i don't do anything, then after about half an hour, engine comes back to normal.
It happens more likely when engine is hot. Moreover, it happens once every week.
Any idea why this strange behaviour?
