Hello all. My car has suddenly developed an odd electrical gremlin:rolleyes:: The passenger side ventilated seat fans are whirring away even with the ignition off! And to make it odder the switch, which has 4 settings (off, and 1, 2, 3 fan speed), when on 3 it is full blast, on 2 it is still full blast(!), on 1 it does change to low speed but in off position it stays in the low fan speed, even when the car is switched off and locked. I have pulled fuse 36 for now and this stops it but then both passenger and drivers seats have no ventilation or heating. The code reader says "State: Current and Historic Control Unit N25/7 (Seat Heater, Seat Ventilation And Steering Wheel Heater Control Unit) Is Defective."

Any ideas? Is that the unit under the seat with the multiplugs on it? My thinking was the fan circuit has obviously gone closed circuit so is that a relay inside the control module stuck closed? Fixable?? My plan is wait for it to fully dry over a few weeks and see it is recovers, or, take the seat out and unplug the fans (I cannot see where the plugs in the base are so any info on that would be amazing. I assume they're in the base?).

Recent things that may or may not be related: an unbelievable torrential rain storm occurred down south yesterday the rear seat footwell became very wet with maybe 500 ml of water. Could this have somehow got near the control module for the seat? (But the module is off the floor and in the front footwell - wiring loom in the floor perhaps??). Also, a friend i gave a lift to just recently insisted of moving the seat into full recline and used the seat ventilator... chaffed wires perhaps?

Any ideas much appreciated 🤔 👍

Never mind... it has fixed itself so the seat fan does switch off now. Phew! Apart from the fan speed being full (3), low (1) and the middle (2) setting being same as full. Odd.
I think drying out and airing the car (and maybe waggling all the wires/unplugging etc) seems to have resolved things.
Still not sure where the water got in as it's not wet around the door card. Could this be a sunroof issue? If so where does the water come in?
Cheers
