Off to view an S204 tomorrow. What to look for?

Looking at one closer to home J.
Only 70 miles away:D
Private sale too.
Good luck mate, let us know how it goes.

When looking i always stick to 50 mile radius, too many messers to travel any further.
My son in law traveled from Essex to Wales for a Range Rover at main dealers and it was crap all scratched up after they told him it was immaculate then there was a train problem so he couldn't get home that night so had the next day lost at work, complaining to the garage was getting him nowhere so he got onto RR headquarters and they give him the money back.
Always a rule " only trust who you see in the mirror "

Apparently that city might not be there when you get there I think someone has stolen the place as I just heard on the news that the Police are looking for Leeds!!!......

Bear in mind that life is not interim....

Life throws all sorts of stuff, shite but also opportunities at you and your intended seat back in an E63 might not happen again or be longer away than expected.
I wouldn't make too many sacrifices and compromises as you never know you might end up in an interim for a while.
As a chap who values the time behind a nice wheel, it could be a long 6 months to X years, compromising every day

And it might be a money pit at that age:oops:

Viewing another in Swindon tomorrow.
Pics if I get it.

Not sure if @littlebrooklyn is here or on t'other side, but a while ago she and hubby Brian had an S204 C250Cgi and loved it - and I think to this day regret selling it!

I am not the best with technical side of things but one thing I learned from where I grew up is to check for smaller things, especially inside the engine bay:
-check the build date of the car. then check the dates when different parts have been produced, such as headlights, bumper, etc. stickers won't always be visible/accessible so I wouldn't dig too far deep. if build date is Jan 2020 and your headlights are from feb 2021, that's a sign to investigate further;
-check the bolts around the car and how paint looks on them. if they look as good as in the photo below, it means that the part is the one installed from factory and hasn't been removed. if you see that some parts on the bolts are missing paint, then it might mean that these have been removed for one reason or another (11.10.2014 - CR Restoration - Engine Bay Bolt Clean-Up 01).

this might sound like an overkill but sometimes damage can be repaired outside of insurers and won't be reportable on the databases. hope that helps a little and good luck tomorrow with a potential purchase :)

Better luck second time around. Got me an S204:cool:
